Symbolism of Logos | Print |
This is the logo of the International Sathya Sai Organization.
The logo contains the five human values that form the foundation of Sathya Sai Baba's education-in-human-values program: truth, right conduct, peace, love and nonviolence.
Also pictured in the logo is a tall pillar, called the world religions stupa, with a lotus flower at the top.
This pillar is near the temple in Prasanthi Nilayam (Sathya Sai Baba's main ashram in India). The pillar, with its concentric rings, represents the unity of faiths, that all are seeking the one and same God. The rising column signifies that humanity rises above differences to the unfolding of the 'lotus of the heart', whose petals are at the top of the pillar. The flame of inner illumination is in the center of the lotus. Just as the lotus plant lives in water but does not get contaminated by it, so we should live in the world but be untouched by it. The base of the pillar is surrounded by plaques with quotations from the five main religions emphasizing the unity of faiths and mankind's spiritual journey.
The Walk for Values logo is rich in symbolism.
The footprint as a whole represents the participants' commitment to 'Walk the Talk.' To practice global affirmations aimed at improving ourselves, our families and communities.
In its totality, the Walk for Values symbol has come to represent the long overdue march of the human race towards Individual, Social, Environmental and Global reformation, starting with one human heart at a time!
The five toes represent the five universal values of Truth, Right Conduct, Peace, Love and Nonviolence, which are in essence, Values Without Borders. They transcend the barriers of caste, class, country and creed, and offering, when practiced, the sweet promise of individual and social renewal.
Shaped as a heart, the sole of the foot symbolizes love, the undercurrent of all the Values and the core of our being.
The heel of the foot drawn as a tear-drop is symbolic of the compassion that moves every human heart to serve, and to reach out to fellow human being and nature.
